The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) for scrutinizing two bills on simultaneous elections will include:

  • Anurag Thakur (BJP)
  • Priyanka Gandhi Vadra (Congress)
  • P P Chaudhary (BJP, former MoS for Law)

๐Ÿ”– Committee Details:

  • 21 Lok Sabha members and 10 Rajya Sabha members will form the 31-member panel.
  • The motion for the committeeโ€™s constitution will be moved by Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal.

๐Ÿชง Potential Chairperson:

  • P P Chaudhary is the frontrunner, with Anurag Thakur also considered a contender.
  • Speaker Om Birla will finalize the chairperson.
